Journey: Bangkok → Bang Pa-In (1h15, 65 km)

We set off to explore Bang Pa-In Royal Palace, the former royal summer residence built in the 17th century. Abandoned after the fall of Ayutthaya, the site was fully restored and expanded in the mid-19th century by King Rama V, who made it a favorite retreat.

In the heart of elegantly landscaped gardens, you'll discover a harmonious ensemble of pavilions blending Thai, European, and Chinese influences, reflecting the kingdom’s openness during that era. A peaceful visit offering a refined insight into the royal history of Siam.

Journey: Bang Pa-In → Ayutthaya (1h, 25 km)

From the palace, you travel to Ayutthaya aboard a traditional boat, heading upstream. As you drift along the river, you'll witness daily life unfolding on the banks: wooden stilt houses, village scenes, and rice barges slowly gliding toward the warehouses of Bangkok. Gradually, the silhouettes of temples appear, their spires etched against the horizon.

You arrive at Ayutthaya, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, whose ruins tell of its former grandeur.

After lunch, we set out to discover the historic center of Ayutthaya. We explore the Wat Mahathat, a major temple dating from the late 14th century, famous for the Buddha’s head entwined in tree roots—now one of the site’s most iconic images.

The visit continues to Wat Phra Sri Sanphet, the former royal temple and the largest in the old capital, easily recognized by its graceful, aligned chedis that testify to the kingdom’s former splendor.

Lastly, we visit Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon, renowned for its impressive reclining Buddha and tranquil atmosphere—a beautiful conclusion to this immersion in the history of Siam.

Chiang Mai

First steps in the 'Rose of the North'

Explore Chiang Mai from the Warorot market to the temples of Doi Suthep, Wat Pha Lat, and Wat Umong. End the day with an introduction to muay thai, diving into Northern culture.

Read the detailed itinerary

With your guide, make a stop at the large Warorot Market, where you’ll find all kinds of northern Thai specialties—such as Sai Ua (northern sausage), Moo Yo (traditional Vietnamese pork sausage), Nam Phrik Num (northern green chili dip), and dried fruits, among other delights. In addition to local food, the market also offers clothing, ceramics, fabrics, embroidery tools, flowers, and much more.

Next, let’s head to Doi Suthep Temple, perched on the mountainside at about 1,200 meters altitude. A true symbol of Chiang Mai, this stunning Buddhist temple exudes serenity and spirituality, with statues, shrines, and bells inviting both worshippers and visitors to contemplate. Legend has it the site was chosen by a white elephant carrying a sacred Buddha relic: after climbing the mountain, the animal stopped at the summit, trumpeted three times, then lay down—indicating where the temple should be built. Today, its terraces offer spectacular views of the city and surrounding valley.

On the way, stop at Wat Pha Lat, a more discreet temple nestled in the forest, appreciated for its peaceful setting and almost secretive ambience, far from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Finally, we’ll end our day with a visit to Wat Umong, a Buddhist temple founded in the 13th century and nestled at the foot of the Doi Suthep mountains. Surrounded by forest, this monastery offers a particularly tranquil atmosphere—far from the bustle of the city.

We’ll discover the site’s history as we pass through its ancient tunnels, once dug for meditation. When possible, it’s also an opportunity to interact with resident monks and learn more about monastic life.

Today, we’re heading to a Thai boxing school

Try your hand at the art of Muay Thai with a two-hour class led by an experienced trainer.

After a warm-up, you’ll learn the basics: footwork, punching, kicking, knee strikes, and striking combinations on pads.

Open to beginners and seasoned athletes alike, this fun and authentic experience is a great way to discover Thailand’s iconic sport within the unique atmosphere of a real local boxing camp.
